The name & the mirror

DASH is named for the dash between two dates — the part that was actually lived. The mark is two D's facing each other across that dash. One is you. The other is your reflection — the you that those who love you will carry. Between them sits the dash: the life, held.

A portrait is a mirror that doesn't forget.

The Work

Every DASH portrait is photographed exclusively by Joe Craig and made by hand on archival fine-art paper, to last for generations. Each session is a curated narrative — a spiritual interpretation, like haute couture — built around one person and their story.
