THE SOULMARKS FOUNDATION

THE HEROES PROJECT

An ongoing record of the people who answer the call.

The Heroes Project began during the pandemic, with the people called to service when it mattered most. It started close to home, at Mercy Hospital, and grew across the United States and Europe — the Soulmarks Foundation making portraits of frontline workers and setting down their stories.

It is an ongoing record. Not a headline, not a moment that passes, but a lasting account of who these people are and what they carry.

Given, as thanks

Each portrait is a gift. A way — however small — to thank the people who stand in the way of crisis, and to hand them something made to last: a portrait of their own, fully finished, theirs to keep.

Handed down

These portraits are made to outlast the moment — a record each hero can pass to the people who love them, and to the generations who come after.

The work continues. If you know someone who answered the call, we'd like to hear from you.
